Half fictive historical musings and half rousing action conclusion. It’s Ennis writing, enthused, about heroism; rare and great.

Ennis gets in the drumroll–we hear the plans, we’re ready to see their results. But he also gets in the humanizing moments too.

Still some pacing issues, but Ennis comes up with more than a few great moments to compensate. I love the Jesus symbolism humor.

This issue is lighter than the previous ones. It doesn’t feel padded, but incomplete. It’s good, just does not match the others.

Ennis mixes politics and the sci-fi action well. The female character is a strong feature, but the historical warfare kicks ass.

Ennis starts out normal–genre standard–enough, but then veers into new territory suddenly. He is not pacing it like a limited.

It’s startling how British it is. Ennis usually doesn’t try for that effect, but here he goes lengths for it. The issue’s great.
