You know, I admire how much they managed to fit into the issue, but it’s just boring politics with nice art.

The first issue i’ve been iffy about. It all goes on too long. Way too much emphasis on Dr. Fate, not enough on the group.
Justice League 5

It’s finally moving. The first half is all villain stuff, then there’s some dialogue banter then the cliffhanger. Awesome.

Reading the series while it’s still finding its feet, introducing its eventual staples, is kind of wild. Great plotting.
Justice League 3

It’s an all action issue, or as close as Giffen and DeMatteis get to one and it does rather well. They juggle it all well.

So good. Between the plotting and the character relationships, it’s just a joy to read. Not quite goofy yet though. Great.

I must have read this before, but it’s such a joy. Lots of talk, great dialogue, then lots of solid action. Beautiful art.

Catwoman disappears so it’s an all Batgirl issue. Too bad the story is, once again, a standard and poorly paced one.

And here we watch the superior Batman do what the weaker sex cannot, even after they team up. Lousy cliffhanger too.
Batman Confidential 19

Not being offensive, it’s leagues ahead of the previous issues. Still, it’s only a standard plot with some good art.

Unbelievably sexist issue. It’s spectacularly sexist in fact. Maguire’s way too good for this kind of trash writing.
Batman Confidential 17

The art makes up for a bunch, like Catwoman’s boring costume. But the writing–the plotting–is surprisingly sexist.
